While at Dreamview, I helped refine a modular room kit for our eCommerce work. The kit consisted of windows, walls, floors, trims, and ceiling pieces of various sizes and styles. I built out many of the pieces in the kit.
The pieces were UV'd for uniform texel density, and when the various sizes of the modular pieces caused tiling issues, I created a script that would inject VrayTriplanar nodes into every used channel of an object's material, and then set up a dummy cube in the scene for an artist to quickly and easily position the VrayTriplanars with ease (this ability comes default for Maya's own Triplanar, but needed to be built out for Vray). In the render above, my script is powering all of the triplanars being used on the wall shiplap.
I built out, textured, lit, and shot various demo scenes over a few rounds of feedback. Many materials came from Quixel, and the lighting consisted of a Studio HDR as well as VrayPlane lights in a rough 3 point lighting setup.
