For Alakazam I reimagined the Masons Brewing Company in Bangor Maine as a meeting place on their metaverse platform via use of Spoke. The scene was built according to reference imagery using Blender, and filled out using a mixture of props built from scratch as well as sourced props (which needed to be edited to work with the aesthetic and resource constraints). Photoshop and Substance Painter were used to generate the PBR materials used. Some of the materials on the flat surfaces were generated with SBSARs through Substance Player. Some creative license was allowed to make the bar feel rustic and a bit spooky.
The scene was lit using Cycles, and then lighting was baked out for use in both standard shading and HDR Spoke scenes. Special attention was given to resource management to ensure the scene could be open in mobile devices. Overall, the scene uses 59,000 triangles, 29 materials, and is 41MB.
